When people ask where my support for the Second Amendment comes from, the answer starts at home.
I grew up in my dad’s gun shop. The shop was part of our house, so firearms were simply part of everyday life.
My dad was a gunsmith. So were my maternal grandfather and uncles, and today my cousin continues that tradition. My grandparents (yep, Grandma too!) both worked as machinists at Erma’s Firearms Manufacturing Company in Steelville, Missouri, helping produce M1 Carbines in the 1960s.
Some of my favorite memories are of hunting with my dad and doing my homework in the back of the room while my parents taught Hunter Safety. Years later, Mike and I owned a sporting goods store that sold outdoor gear, hunting and fishing equipment alongside Dad’s gunsmithing services and gun sales.
Today, Dad is gone, but the traditions he passed down remain. Mike and I still own firearms for hunting, recreation, personal protection, and preparedness.
The Second Amendment isn’t a just campaign talking point for me. It’s part of my family’s story, Wyoming’s heritage, and a lifelong commitment to protecting our constitutional rights.
For that reason, I’m especially honored to have earned the NRA Political Victory Fund’s AQ rating. I hope to earn your vote on August 18, and if elected, I look forward to the opportunity to drop the “Q” by building a voting record that reflects those same values and principles.
