Today I had the chance to sit down with Jake on the Cowboy State Daily Morning Show for a short conversation about this campaign and what I’m hearing across the district.

It’s a quick listen, but I appreciated the chance to talk through a few ideas that keep coming up as I make my way around the district.

One of them is this:

“I think voters are way less interested in labels and watching us argue over who’s the most conservative…They really are more concerned with what’s working and what’s not working for them, for their kids, for their kids’ futures. As I’m traveling around, what I’m hearing is jobs, housing, health care, child care, education. None of those have anything to do with those labels. They have everything to do with what really improves people’s lives on a day to day basis.”

And this:

“To me, conservatism is stewardship. It’s not burning everything down—it’s taking what’s been built and making it better.”

Those two ideas really frame how I’m approaching this campaign—and the kind of work I’d bring to Cheyenne.

If you have a few minutes, I hope you’ll take a listen. Skip ahead to 3:48 for the start of the interview.
